2015- Guarapo-30” H x 22” W 10” D- Materials: cement, mesh wire, sugar cane, resin -Material exploration that included several unlikely combinations. The sugar cane; reminiscent of Miami's culture was covered in cement, almost making it unrecognizable. Much like the booming population currently happening in the city, it is contained with mesh wire that stands on a bed of garden pavers, that are also covered in cement. The sculpture is covered with resin, which is reminiscent of Miami's faux exterior.
